I don't know your religion but I saw you do yoga for peace and relaxing, but whatever you eat or drink do it for the glory of God. this has helped me in my weight loss journey as well. Some Yoga Myths Busted

The name of yoga has produced multiple effects on people world-wide in the present times. Some have been awed by the history of yoga, some have been influenced by the practical benefits that yoga offers and others have taken flights of fantasy . . . on the wings of many myths that may have been facts thousands of years ago, but have transformed drastically as it came down through the ages. While it is good and expected to know the history of this great Indian art, we often come across people who are more moved by the myth. While some of these myths bring people to accept and adopt the art, while others get repelled by it. When myths become a driving force behind learning yoga, people look forward to having a brush with the supernatural throughout the training course. When certain other myths are taken as reality, people deliberately cut themselves off from something that could do them all the good in the world.
Supernatural Powers Through Yoga: This is perhaps the most common belief among certain yoga enthusiasts. Stories of ancients yogis being able to perform miracles in not unusual. In fact, every children's story book in India has some mention of it or the other. Even the ancient texts have mentioned the presence of such extraordinary abilities in yogis. Unfortunately though, there is no proof of paranormal abilities like healing, walking over water, levitation at will, cosmic journey by the soul, ability to look into past, present and future, change shape, become invisible so on and so forth. Regular practice of yoga postures, Pranayam and meditation will produce a body, mind and spirit that is perfectly cleansed of impurities. This will improve one's mental and physical health beyond imagination and you will lead a stress free and happy life. That is all the magic one should expect through yoga in the present times.
Turning Vegetarian: While it is good to stay away from too much of red meat and eggs, it is not required to force oneself into vegetarianism after joining yoga. One must eat light before commencing with practice as performing overexerting yoga poses with stomach full of junk / heavy food may cause nausea and acidity. This will affect practice. Otherwise, there in nothing in yoga philosophy about sworn vegetarianism. Lean meat is in fact good for health.
Troublesome Poses: Yoga also refers to performing impossible poses and postures. When approached about basic understanding of this art, many people commented that they will consciously avoid yoga because there is no way they can attempt those unattainable postures! The sad lack of information has caused people to stay away from this art. Yoga for beginners and the common people is simple beyond imagination. Basic standing and lying down postures that cause not physical exertion also forms a part of yoga. It is necessary to dispel these myths to have a clearer understanding and have logical expectations from this art.
