Is it okay to do a pilates beginner dvd instead of going to a class?

Is it okay to do a pilates beginner dvd instead of going to a class?Yes as long as the dvd is presented by someone who knows what they are talking about. If they start with the basics (e.g. how to engage the core etc) and work through it slowly, I can't see why not. You could put it on in front of big screen tv and learn the moves in your own time. Your purse will not feel any lighter either this way! Good luck!
