However, I admit have always admired the flowing grace/strength of Astanga Vinyasa.
By the way, Astanga and Iyengar ARE both styles of Hatha yoga.
All the various styles of Hatha yoga (Astanga, Iyengar, Kripalu, Viniyoga, Sivananda, Bikram, "power", and on and on...) only came into existence within last fifty years or so.
Prior to that, there was only "Hatha yoga" (in terms of asana style).
A yoga class described simply as "Hatha yoga" usually indicates no one particular style of asana instruction is being followed, or, could indicate an instructor that doesn't know the origins of what they are teaching.
