I bring a track jacket to put on for the end of the class in case it is cold.
Or i just wear Gym shorts.
If you are super fit like the guys on the yoga dvds then you can wear gym shorts and a muscle shirt
Don't worry about it too much - it is not a fashion show it is a yoga class.
if you don't have a yoga mat, almost every gym will have extras. A yoga studio will definately have extras for beginners or those who forget there own.
Just show up.
I have also wore elasticized jeans - but only after i learned the basics.
stick with shorts or sweat pants and a t-shirtA pair of shorts or sweat pants, and a T shirt are all you really need. If you've got your own mat then take that too.
Don't worry about it all, though. Most yoga teachers are delighted to see guys in the class. Just be you, don't compare yourself to others, and enjoy yourself.
If you find the class isn't for you then find another teacher or studio until you find one you are happy with. The benefits of doing yoga are too important to let a bad experience put you off doing it.
You might also want to do a few yoga routines or postures so you don't feel overwhelmed by new information once you get to an actual class.
